ABOUT US

 

Independent Renault Services Ltd is owned and run by Simon Shakespeare. IRS was founded in 1999 by Nic Southam, in 2008 the company was relaunched as a partnership with Simon. In January 2018 Nic retired from the company leaving it in Simon and the rest of the IRS team's capable hands.

 

Simon trained with Renault UK and held positions of Master Technician, Workshop Controller and Service Manager at a Renault Dealership before running his own business SJS Automotive. Simon specialises in electronics and diagnostics, his determination for not being beaten by a problem has earned the business a good reputation for solving problems deemed impossible to solve!

 

With business growing and the recent closure of the local main dealer, in 2011 Nic and Simon moved IRS to a larger premises enabling them to carry on expanding the business, taking on new employees to meet the demands.

 

Neil Copperwheat joined IRS in 2011 having spent the previous 24 years working as a Renault trained technician at the local Renault dealership, bringing with him a wealth of experience and knowledge. In 2011 Malcolm Kinross also joined the company, with over 35 years in the motor trade and specialist knowledge of diesel engines. In 2018 Alex Burkill joined the team as a vehicle technician apprentice and is now a fully qualified technician.

 

Louise French has been working for IRS since 2010 within the accounts department, and in more recent years running the service reception. Louise ensures that the workshop diary runs smoothly ensuring vehicles are completed and ready for collection on time, keeping our customers happy.

Anna Shakespeare-Luck has worked for IRS since 2013, Anna works in the accounts department and also looks after our marketing and website.
